Chemistry Laboratory

The Laboratory of Chemistry conducts research on the synthesis of five- and six-membered heterocyclic compounds with potential biological effects. The crystalline and molecular structures of the compounds obtained and the relationship between their structure and biological activity are examined. The new compounds obtained are checked for their suitability for pathogenic microorganism control. There are also works being conducted on the development of methods for the extraction of polyphenolic acids from plant material and studies on their properties. Important aspects of our employees’ interests are selected aspects of biochemistry and physiology of plant stress caused by ozone, herbicides or lack of water. An important area of activity of the Chemistry Laboratory is the proper course of the didactic process. Didactic classes for students are conducted in the form of lectures, labs and auditorium classes.
