Department of Vertebrate Zoology and Human Biology

In the Department of Vertebrate Zoology and Human Biology, scientific research focuses mainly on issues of herpetology and ecotoxicology. They include both observations of the annual amphibian life cycle and associated phenomena. They concern morphology, ecology, threats, distribution and monitoring of amphibians and reptiles in Poland; the effect of UV radiation on organisms, especially vertebrates and invertebrates. Research also focuses on the concentration and impact of heavy metals on animals and humans.
